1 baguette
60 mL (¼ cup) cup garlic butter melted
4–5 slices provolone cheese
12 thin slices prosciutto shaped into small bouquets
½ ball fresh mozzarella cheese
To taste fresh basil
Directions
1Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F). Line the bottom of a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
2Place the baguette on a work surface. Using a sharp knife, cut it through the centre while being careful not to break it. Carefully remove a strip of crust and crumb to create a cavity for the filling.
3Put the baguette on the baking sheet. Brush the inside of the baguette with the melted garlic butter. Add the provolone slices on the bottom. Then layer on the prosciutto bouquets and mozzarella broken up into small pieces to fill the baguette cavity you carved in the baguette.
4Bake for 12–15 minutes.
5Set the oven to broil for 2 to 3 minutes and melt the cheese until golden brown.
6Remove from oven. Sprinkle on fresh basil to taste. Cut into sections. Enjoy!
7It’s easy to spruce up this recipe, use brie, figs and nuts or cream, onions and lardons or even tomato sauce and grilled vegetables.
